BATESVILLE – October 16, 2012 – The Citizens Bank is providing 7,000 red bracelets to help all students in the Batesville, Cave City, Cedar Ridge, Midland and Southside School districts observe Red Ribbon Week, October 23-31.  The bracelets are inscribed with the phrase, “Drug Free and Proud to Be.”

Red Ribbon Week was established in 1980 by a group of concerned and determined parents who were convinced they should play a leadership role in drug prevention.  The organization, now known as the National Family Partnership, is a leader in drug prevention education and advocacy.

“We support our area’s families and communities in nurturing the full potential of healthy, drug free youth,” said John Dews, Citizens Bank President and Chief Executive Officer.  “As schools observe Red Ribbon Week this year, we hope students will appreciate and live by the message that appears on special bracelets.”
