United Way Expands ‘Stuff the Bus’ to Put ‘Best Foot Forward’

BATESVILLE – July 17, 2014 – United Way of Independence County has expanded its annual effort to collect school supplies and other basic items to ensure that every child in Independence County and Cave City is properly equipped to succeed in school.

United Way and Citizens Bank last year launched “Stuff the Bus” to collect school supplies.  This year, the Wood Family of Dealerships has joined the campaign with “Best Foot Forward,” which seeks the donation of new athletic shoes for children who need them.

Meeks was shooting off fireworks for friends and family last Friday night on his farm near Floral when his wife, Jannette, received a text message on her cell phone that he had won a new car in Citizens Bank’s “Celebrate America 2014” drawings on the Fourth of July in Riverside Park in Batesville.

“I’ve never won anything so I didn’t pay much attention to it, and just kept shooting fireworks,” Meeks said.  “But we got more text messages, and then friends started calling me, saying, ‘Billy, you won the car!’ ”

Citizens Bank Joins With March of Dimes to Improve Health of Babies, Prevent Birth Defects

BATESVILLE – April 29, 2014 – A team of Citizens Bank associates is seeking additional volunteers and donations to support the “March for Babies,” a March of Dimes fund-raising event to be held Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at the Southside High School track.

“Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick,” said Kristi Morgan, captain of the Citizens Bank group.  “Our team is walking in the March for Babies because we want to do something about this unfortunate situation.”

Citizens Bank Seniors Golf Tournament to Benefit Area High School Golf Teams

BATESVILLE – April 25, 2014 – Today is the deadline to enter the Citizens Bank Seniors 18-Hole Two Man Scramble, which is scheduled to be held Friday, May 2, at the Batesville Municipal Golf Course.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the golf programs at Batesville, Southside and Cedar Ridge high schools.

Southside School District Projects Compete for Citizens Bank Education Initiative Grants

Citizens Bank Education Initiative Grants to Help Technology, Literacy Projects at Midland
