About Us

BATESVILLE, Ark. (May 4, 2021) - Citizens Bank, headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas, has been recognized as the Bank of the Year (Category 2) by the Arkansas District Office of the Small Business Administration. To celebrate this honor during Small Business Week, the bank launched a special video series highlighting these small businesses.

“Citizens Bank was one of the first banks in the region to originate PPP loans for our customers and we are honored by this recognition,” said Adam Mitchell, President and CEO of Citizens Bank. “We are humbled to continue to serve each client, especially our small business owners, during this turbulent time.”

It was the bank’s extraordinary service during the height of the COVID-19 crisis that brought about Citizen Bank’s recent honor as Bank of the Year. Banks are honored by the Arkansas District Office of the Small Business Administration in categories separated by asset size. In 2021, with the combination of Regular SBA 7(a) Loans and Paycheck Protection Program loans, Citizens Bank was selected as the award recipient among “Category 2”-size banks, with over 558 loans.

“Putting people first is just our DNA,” said Mitchell. “This philosophy became even more vital during the pandemic as we sought to serve our local small business owners. We want to celebrate them in return with this video series, telling their unique stories.”

During Small Business Week, the bank launched a social media video series highlighting several

Arkansas small businesses. This series will continue throughout the month of May and is one

small way the bank demonstrates its commitment to supporting clients of all sizes and in

communities around the state.
