Bank welcomes new executive leadership with decades of experience
Citizens Bank, headquartered in Batesville, has announced the hiring of longtime banking and investment professional Chris Wewers as its new CFO.
“In his new role, Chris brings extensive expertise and insight that will be invaluable to the strategic initiatives of the bank,” said Jeff Teague, Chairman and CEO of Citizens Bank. " We are confident that Chris, with more than two decades of executive experience in the industry, will make a great addition to our team.”
Wewers previously served as CFO for Southern Bancorp, where he oversaw financial management for all three of the bank’s entities. Effective immediately, he will take on all responsibilities as CFO for Citizens Bank.

Wewers is a member of Rotary International and the Pay It Forward Foundation. An alumnus of the University of Arkansas and Henderson State University, he serves as vice chairman of the Henderson State University Foundation Board of Directors and chairman of the university's Business Advisory Council.
