Citizens Bank Employees Helping Make Christmas Bright

The prospect of nursing home residents feeling lonely and isolated during the holiday season inspired a group of Citizens Bank employees to do something about it.

“For years now, I have wanted to take my kids to the nursing homes at Christmastime to play cards or dominos with the residents, or just simply sit and visit with them,” said Jasmine Hilliard, of the Citizens Bank Customer Service Center.

The United Way of North Central Arkansas is the latest organization to step up to ensure a Merry Christmas for the youth who have found a home at the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch, based in Batesville. 

More than $67,000 was donated by more than 135 individuals and companies to the Youth Ranch on “Giving Tuesday,” boosted by a daylong fundraising event held by Citizens Bank and the White River Now family of radio stations. 

Citizens Bank’s New Financial Center Good News for Monticello, Drew County

Groups That Help Feed the Hungry Gain Support of Citizens Bank Employees

The Citizens Bank Employees’ Blue Jeans Fund has donated nearly $1,100 to four local groups that work to ensure that children and families don’t go hungry.

The most recently funded organizations include the Cedar Ridge Food Pantry, First United Methodist Church Food Pantry, and the “Blessings in a Backpack” program at both Sulphur Rock Elementary School and White River Academy.

Celebrating at an event with bank employees, customers and the board of directors, CEO Phil Baldwin also announced plans to retire in 2021, stating his strong belief in the next generation of outstanding bank leadership in place at Citizens Bank.
